  • Cold to the Touch Walls and/or Floors.

If any of these items listed sounds familiar, we want help you create an action plan to not only save money, but increase energy efficiency and comfort for your home.

Scheduling your Home Energy Audit is the first step to assess how much energy your home consumes and to evaluate what measures you can take to make your home more energy efficient. These on-site assessments are offered to you at $149.00 and help provide solutions to problems that may, when corrected, save you significant amounts of money over time. Our professional HES technicians will make it easy to begin that action plan by offering advice, resources and funding to complete the energy-saving and clean energy improvements that are right for you.

What tests are performed during a               Home Energy Assessment?

1. Blower Door Test & Air Sealing – A blower door is a machine used to measure the airtightness of buildings. It can also be used to measure airflow between building zones, to test ductwork airtightness and to help physically locate air leakage sites in the building envelope

  • Reducing energy consumption due to air leakage.

  • Avoiding moisture condensation problems.

  • Avoiding uncomfortable drafts caused by cold air leaking in from the outdoors.

  • Determining how much mechanical ventilation might be needed to provide acceptable indoor air quality.

2. Duct System Assessment, Testing & Sealing – A duct leakage tester is a diagnostic tool designed to measure the airtightness of forced air heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) ductwork. A duct leakage tester consists of a calibrated fan for measuring an air flow rate and a pressure sensing device to measure the pressure created by the fan flow. The combination of pressure and fan flow measurements are used to determine the ductwork airtightness.

  • Measure leaks in your home’s heating and cooling duct system.

  • Reduce energy loss by sealing costly leaks.

  • Comfort control problems are resolved, and temperatures can be regulated more effectively in all areas of the home.

  • Indoor air quality is improved by eliminating holes and gaps in the system which allow contaminants to mix with conditioned air.

3. Water Conservation – Hot water-saving measures including low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators may be installed.

4. Energy Efficient Lighting – By replacing your home’s five most frequently used light fixtures or bulbs with models that have earned the ENERGY STAR, you can save $75 each year.

  • Replace exisitng light bulbs with Compact Flourescent Light (CFLs) Bulbs.

  • CFLs will only be installed insockets that can be safely reached.

  • The combing limit on CFLs and courtesy LEDs to be installed by vendor is 25, including specialty bulbs (6 LED).

  • Dimmable CFLs are no longer available.

  • It may not be possible to retrofit certain sockets with comparable energy-efficient bulbs

  • No extra bulbs will be left behind.

  • Additional bulbs may be purchased.
